1. Print out a map or Click here to copy and paste a map into the Paint Program on your computer. Color in the areas to show where a person can find your ecosystem. Label the major bodies of water and countries it might border.

The green parts are rainforests.
The tropical rain forest can be found in three major geographical areas around the world.
. Central America in the Amazon river basin.
. Africa - Zaire basin, with a samll area in West Africa ; also eastern Madagascar.
. Indo - Malaysia - west coast of India, Assam, Southeast Asia, New Cuinea and Queensland, Australia.

2. Describe (3) three physical features of your ecosystem.

1. The tropical rain forest is a forest of tall trees in a region of year-round warmth. an average of 50 to 260 inches
(125 to 660 cm.) of rain fall yearly. The temperature in a rain forest rarely gets higher than 93 F(34C) or drops
below 68F(20C) : average humidity is between 77 and 88%; reainfall is often more than 100 inches a year.
2. Rainforests cover less than 6% of Earth's land surface.
3. Scientists estimate that more than 1/2 of all the world's plant and animal species live in tropical rain forests.
4. Tropical rainforests produce 40% of Earth's oxygen.
5. A tropical rain forest has more kinds of trees than any other area in the world. Scientests have counted
about 100 to 300 species in one 2 1/2-acre(1-hectare) area in South America.
6. 70% of the plants in the rainforest are trees.
7. About 1/4 of all the medicines we use come from rainforest plants.

3. Collect (5) five images or photos that describe your ecosystem. Copy and Paste them into a Word Document.

4. Describe a serious problem that you have discovered about your ecosystem, and how you could
solve it.

The World is faced with the problem of damage to the ozone shield. This damage will affect the order of nature and ecosystem balance. The rain forest percentage will decrease because of this imbalance, threatening
the quality of oxygen in the air. The damage will also kill and extinct many animals, plants and trees that live in the rain forest. People will have more illness and we will not be able to get 1/4 of plants useful medicine.
We have to conserve energy to protect the environment so that the ecosystem balance is maintained. As a student having an environment friendly mind is important. We also need to learn more about nature in order to preserve them better.

5. Mark below what seasons your ecosystem experiences, and a brief description of what the physical features (landscape) might look like.

season
Physical Features
Winter
year-round warmth Temperature between 92F and 68F Humidity is between 77 and 88%.
Spring
year-round warmth. Temperature between 92F and 68F Humidity is between 77 and 88%.
Summer
year-round warmth. Temperature between 92F and 68F Humidity is between 77 and 88%. In monsoonal area, dry season.
Fall
year-round warmth. Temperature between 92F and 68F Humidity is between 77 and 88%.

1. Describe the soil type of your ecosystem?
Our a Terrarium smell is very bad.
2 - 4. Describe the height and appearance of (3) three forms of plant life.

1 - 4 . An ecosystem is characterized by its seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall) Describe the weather conditions and the type of seasons this ecosystem experiences. Give high and low temperature ranges and note rain and snow precipitation. (Note: Your ecosystem may not have every season.)

5. Briefly describe what factors contribute to the classification of your ecosystem. (consult with your team members!)

6. As an scientist, why do you think it is important to research the weather of an ecosystem? Be able to support your opinion with facts.
